Something about Swami Vivekananda
Swami Vivekananda was born on January 12th, 1897, into an affluent family in North Calcutta. When he became a monk, he changed his name to Swami Vivekananda from his birth name, Narendra Nath Datta.
At the age of twenty-five, Swami Vivekananda had a spiritual crisis during which he had questions regarding the reality of God. The death of Vivekananda’s teacher prompted him to become the most important disciple of his successor, Sri Ravishankar Swami, and the founder of the Ramakrishna Math and Sri Ravishankar Swami Mission.
He grew up to be an inspiration to generations, and he played a significant role in the spiritual guidance of a whole country and even farther afield. In 1902, at the age of 39, Swami Vivekananda died as a result of a rupture in a blood vessel in his head, which occurred on July 4, 1902.
Swami Vivekananda Quotes With Explanation
1.”Talk to yourself once a day, otherwise, you may miss meeting an intelligent person in this world.”
At the very least, speak to yourself throughout the day. If you don’t hurry, you may lose a chance to meet an OUTSTANDING individual in this planet. Self-talk may be defined as a continuous mental monologue regarding your emotions, frustrations, actions, objectives, beliefs, situations, dreams, and nightmares. It can also be called internal dialogue. Whether you’re living alone or with people, you’re constantly living with your own thoughts and perceptions.
2.”Comfort is no test of truth. Truth is often far from being comfortable.”
Comforts are a curse no matter where we are. Since the dawn of time, people have shown a preference for a life of ease, comfort, and luxury. Because we are incarnated as conscious human beings, we bear the critical responsibility of regulating our behavior in a way that promotes our evolution. A mistake we gladly make is pursuing activities or refraining from pursuing things for reasons solely based on the concept of comfort.
3.”Arise, awake, stop not till the goal is reached.”
Start now and don’t stop until you’ve achieved your destination. Even in everyday life, this phrase is important. No matter where we are, we must not stop moving forward or working. We should not give up on this fight. Failures should never cause us to become disheartened or sad. We should press on and not give up until we’ve achieved our objective. It’s possible that we’ve been hit repeatedly by the hand of fate. We place the blame on the outside world, but the truth is that we are the ones to blame for everything that has gone wrong. We must become conscious of our real identity and awaken to it.
4.”Neither seek nor avoid, take what comes.”
Every pleasure is followed by a period of sorrow, no matter how far apart they are geographical. One follows the other more rapidly as one’s Soul develops. We don’t desire either pleasure or sorrow, but something in between. Both rob us of our real selves; both bind us with iron or gold chains; both lead to the true self, who has no concept of joy or sorrow. States fluctuate, but the essence of the Soul is constant joy and serenity. If we only wash away the dross, we can see it. We don’t even have to acquire it. Only until we are rooted in our own selves can we love the rest of the world. Be at the highest point; understanding our global nature, we must see the whole world’s landscape with absolute serenity.
5.”They alone live, who live for others.”
This saying implies that if someone is in need, we should always step in to assist them. Always make an effort to reach out to people who are really in need. We should constantly consider others and do things for them, but we shouldn’t hold it against them. When it comes to working, individuals often accuse their employers of doing little for them. But this is a bad idea; instead, consider what you’ve done for the business and treat it as if it were your own. Your fame will come to you in due time. As a result, we must live with a global perspective and avoid being egocentric.
6.”Be not afraid of anything. You will do Marvelous work. it is Fearlessness that brings Heaven even in a moment.”
Nothing should frighten you. You’re going to be fantastic at what you do. Worry is a major source of suffering in the world. The most pernicious belief is fear. We suffer because of fear, and we may reach paradise even for a little period are fearless. In other words: “raise, awaken and stop not till the objective is attained.
7.”The greatest sin is to think yourself weak.”
Sin is the most serious offense that sinners commit for a variety of reasons. Those who live a life of sin have no idea what they’ve done to the minds of others, or even to the minds of themselves when they create terror, fear, bitterness, and cruelty in others’ thoughts. Besides causing devastation throughout the globe and toying with your own emotions, the biggest sin is degrading deep knowledge of the soul, which is a treasure house for a tranquil foundation and a courthouse for redeeming our misdeeds.
8.In a conflict between the heart and the brain, follow your heart.
It says that if you are at odds with our hearts and minds, you should listen to our hearts instead of your minds. The reason behind this is because the brain does not readily accept inspiration from others. When it comes to the heart, it has the potential to be inspired and to open up new doors for possibilities. When you are inspired, we explore and experiment with new ideas. As a result, it is beneficial for you to choose the heart above the intellect.
9.”He who struggles is better than he who never attempts.”
It’s true. A person who does not try anything because he is afraid he will fail or will not get anything is the one who has failed in the end. It’s as if he’s already failed before he fails in the real world. A person who struggles, on the other hand, not only gets experience in dealing with the circumstance but also develops the strength to deal with even more difficult situations in the future. This kind of person never fails in life, and even when they do, they feel as if they have learned something from the experience. As a result, instead of sitting about and moaning, everyone should strive to struggle’.
10.”All differences in this world are of degree, and not of a kind because oneness is the secret of everything.”
If you’re all just a giant ball of energy in the universe, no one will have to know anything. With no comparisons, no one will feel superior or a beggar or whatever you name yourselves. No one would feel this way. Because God exists in every one of us, treat everyone with kindness and respect. As far back as you can remember, they’ve been telling us the same thing.
11.In one word, this ideal is that you are divine.
Divine is the best descriptor for you. This is the truth for you, but unless you know it, it has no real value. As your divine essence is expressed in thought, speech, and action, then you are in the condition of “knowing.” If you want to make a difference in the world, idealism alone won’t cut it; you’ll also need to choose a strategy that helps you get there. To put it another way, you must be realistic.”
12.”Truth can be stated in a thousand different ways, yet each one can be true.”
There are many sides to the truth. Truth is always true from the observer’s perspective, although it may seem untrue to others. There has been and will continue to be a battle of viewpoints as long as there is truth to be found. There is just grey, not black or white. You don’t have to fight over every little thing in life that makes you disagree. Divergent viewpoints must coexist in a free society.
13.”In a day, when you don’t come across any problems – you can be sure that you are traveling on a wrong path.”
Yes, it is correct. If you don’t face any challenges, you aren’t doing anything new, which means you aren’t learning anything new for the day. Everyone makes errors along the way as they learn. If you don’t run into challenges, you won’t learn nearly as much as you would if you didn’t encounter unknowns and seek answers. So if there is a problem, a solution is almost certainly on the way, and it will serve as a learning experience as well as putting you on the correct track.
14.”Be the servant while leading. Be unselfish. Have infinite patience, and success is yours.”
Look ahead with endless energy, limitless zeal, and patience, and great things will be completed alone. Fortune favors the courageous and energetic. You have to set the planet on fire. People from all walks of life possess the divine, the unchangeable essence of God, and perceiving the divine in others will help foster love and peace in society.
15.”You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your soul.”
16.”You know, I may have to be born again, you see, I have fallen in love with mankind.”
17.”The great secret of true success, of true happiness, is this: the man or woman who asks for no return, the perfectly unselfish person, is the most successful.”
18.”The greatest religion is to be true to your nature. Have faith in yourselves.”
